Winter in north part of China is long and cold, lasting from December through March. Temperatures are often below zero and you'll likely see snow. Summer sees opposite extreme temperatures when it can be very hot and quite humid. Summer lasts from May through the end of August.

Weather does not affect my mood much. Sometimes when I am in a bad mood the weather can make me happy or sad.

Rainy days do not make me feel depressed. It is comforting to listen to the drops as they hit the tin roof of my apartment. I enjoy the cool breeze that comes in the window as the rain pours outside. It's fun to read a book and drink a cup of coffee while it rains.

I find it impossible to decide. I see amazing qualities in each but actually, in all honesty, I think summer may be my least favorite.

By the end of spring semester I am sick and tired of being inside. I don't think there is anything healthier for the soul than staying out side for a week. Plan a camping, hiking, or canoeing trip. Take a few friends with you and enjoy the beauty of nature.

I honestly really like winter. I like snow, I don't mind being cold, and if it wasn't for how dirty my car gets, I wouldn't mind if it was winter for a lot longer! The only problem with winter is what to do! It's so cold, so why go outside unless you have to? Sometimes you've made a New Year's resolution for yourself (bad idea), and then you feel even more like you need to get out of the house! "I said I was going to take a cooking class/learn how to identify flowers, how can I do that in the house?" That's one of the many reasons I don't make New Year resolutions. I think everyone feels cabin fever at this time of the year, making it even harder to pursue New Year resolutions.

For a country of China's size and its varied topography, the diverse weather patterns are an expected feature. There are primarily four seasons.
